Whether you are looking for Bibles, devotionals, or faith-based literature, we are here to support you on your journey with God. Founded and owned by Jessica Reid, our bookstore is more than just a space in the Christian retail industry; it is a spiritual sanctuary for those seeking to deepen their faith and grow spiritually. 

Jessica’s journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to ministry and her passion for uplifting others through the written word. She believes that every book has the potential to inspire and transform lives, serving as a guiding light on one’s spiritual path.  Reid’s path in the world of Christian literature and retail began as a former dedicated employee of The Harvest Company Christian Bookstore, once operated in Chesapeake, where she worked from 2006 until its doors officially closed in January of 2011. While serving there, she was offered the opportunity to work as a key holding assistant manager. During that transition, she developed a deep appreciation for the impact that faith-based resources can have on individuals and communities.

In her personal spiritual journey, Ms. Reid was officially ordained and licensed into ministry under the leadership of Bishop Jesse Featherston, Sr., the founder of Trinity Missions University and Trinity Faith Center Church in Chesapeake, Virginia, on January 31, 2013. That same year, she went on to preach her initial sermon on Mother’s Day on May 12th at Trinity Faith Center. This marked a significant milestone in her commitment to God and to serving others through ministry.

Jessica now holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University (Lynchburg, Virginia), where she majored in three concentrated areas of study: Christian Counseling, Theology, and Business Administration. She completed her degree and graduated from Liberty University with her Bachelor of Science in 2019. More recently, Ms. Reid graduated on May 9th, 2025 from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, earning her a Master of Arts degree in Law with a specialized concentration in Nonprofit Organizations. Upon the completion of her MA of Law degree, she is working toward completing her Juris Doctorate degree to practice law. She hopes to become a fully licensed attorney in the state of California, Virginia, and North Carolina in order to further empower the nonprofit organizations that she actively supports.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in Chesapeake, Jessica is also a 2004 graduate of Great Bridge High School and is a product of Chesapeake Public Schools. Throughout her career, Jessica Reid has received numerous awards and had the privilege of serving on various professional boards. She is also a member of several law and community organizations, all of which have further enriched her commitment to making a difference in the world.

In addition to her role as the founder and owner of Tribes Christian Bookstore, Ms. Reid is also the owner and founder of Corinne Cosmetics™ LLC (www.corinnecosmetics.com). She faithfully serves in her community ministry as the campus founder & visionary of NCT Christian campus (www.newclarktemple.org). Each of these endeavors reflects her dedication to uplifting and serving the local and global community.
